Brendan Hancock, Sunny Coast Queensland

We decided on Breno as April’s Member Of The Month as his shots of the Sunshine Coast were too good to look past. We asked him some questions, sent him some prizes and gave him some credit onto his account – rad!

Name: Brendan Hancock

Occupation: Carpet and vinyl Layer

Age: 27

What part of the coast do you call home? Sunshine Coast Qld

Tell us a bit about the surf around there? Pretty good all year round winter being the best months, just have to have your finger on the pulse to score it usually only 2-3ft though.

How long have you been surfing? Since I was 13.

What was your last session like? Pretty fun. Those photos were from a sunnie coast beachie firing solid 6 ft + . Only me and one mate paddled out on that section of beach so stoked heavy paddle out!! Only managed a few sneaky ones since as I have a new baby boy Asher at home 5 weeks old today

Where else has your surfing taken you? Been to California surfed Huntington (no good) Lombok Indo for a 2 week surf trip, Usually surf anywhere from Double island point to Broken Heads nothing further south than Iluka

Best swell you’ve ever seen/ridden? Too many to choose or remember so Ill say the last one from those photos.

Dream destination? Mentawais.

When did you first pick up a camera? Talked my wife into getting a Canon digital SLR for family shots it now has a 70-300mm lens on it!

When did you sign up as a Coastalwatch Plus member? Two years ago

What features have you found helpful? Swell alert.
