Nikki Van Dyjk (Phillip Island) will surf in the 2nd round of the Fantastic Noodle Junior Victorian Junior Surfing Titles, which has been relocated to Jan Juc due to inclement weather on the East Coast.

(Torquay, Vic – Saturday 25th April). The second round of the Fantastic Noodle Victorian Junior Surfing Titles will be held this weekend at Jan Juc due to the inclement weather that was experienced on the East Coast.

The East Coast round was held at Gunnamatta Beach on the 14th of February in clean fun waves, however the event was called off mid-morning when a strong storm front rolled through with strong onshore winds and rain.

The event held the under 18 boys round 1 along with several heats of the under 13 and under 16 boys, and the under 16 and under 13 girls.

The second round of the event will be crucial for competing surfers not only for rating points, but also to gain momentum going into the 3rd and final round of the series to be held in conjunction with the 2nd round.

Coming off a great result at the recent Rip Curl Women’s Pro WCT event as a wild card, Nikki Van Dyjk (Phillip Island) will look to take that confidence and get a result in the blue ribbon Under 18 Girls divison.

Round 1 winner Jess Laing (Phillip Island) will have to fend off Van Dyjk as she aims to take the second round points.

In the Boys Under 18s, Mitch Baker (Phillip Island) will look to take confidence from his round one win at Phillip Island into the second round and gain more valuable ratings points.

The event will be held on Saturday the 2nd of May at Jan Juc. Competitors check in at Jan Juc at 7.00 am for a 7.30 am start.
